How to Unjam a Lincoln MKZ CD Player
by Matthew FortunaThe Lincoln MKZ is equipped with the manufacturer's standard CD player, which features MP3 capabilities, a USB jack and a variety of other features. While the player is among the car's top technologies, it is not free of errors. One common error is that the CDs get stuck inside the player. A stuck CD will prevent you from using the eject button, play your disc or remove the disc to reset the radio or insert another disc. There are a variety of methods you can use to unjam your CD player.
Step 1
Turn your key in the ignition to the "On" position and press and hold the eject button on your player. This will allow the player to continuously try to force the disc out for up to two or three minutes at a time.
Step 2
Press and hold the small reset button on the player's interface. This is a small black indentation that must be pressed with a pen or a small point. Hold the button for up to ten seconds as the player attempts to reset.
Step 3
Insert a old or blank CD into the player and attempt to wedge the disc underneath the CD that is already stuck. Hold the new disc under the stuck disc, pushing it back up into the eject slot and press while you hold the eject button on your player.
