How to Fix a Jammed CD in a 2006 CTS
by Matthew FortunaLike most vehicles manufactured since the mid-1990s, the 2006 Cadillac CTS features a standard CD player. One common problem with the player can occur when your disc gets stuck, and will refuse to eject as it properly should. You can combat this problem with a few troubleshooting steps to remove the disc. These methods will not harm either the disc or the CD player.
Step 1
Press and hold the "Eject" button on your player to attempt to force the disc out. Do this with the key in the ignition and turned to the "ACC" position.
Step 2
Press and hold the "Eject" button while powering the player on and off with the "Power" button.
Step 3
Press and release the "Reset" button on the lower right hand corner of the player face. Push this button with a pen or a paperclip, and force the disc out as the player resets itself.
Step 4
Insert a the edge of a blank disc into the player and attempt to lodge it underneath the stuck disc. Push the stuck CD up into the ejecting track so that it will slide out or you can grab it with a set of tweezers.
