The Cadillac CTS features a standard CD player system that is popular for its audio capabilities; these players are not without their potential problems or errors. One common problem occurs when discs become stuck in the system. This makes your player impossible to use. Troubleshoot the problem by restarting the system and dislodging the stuck disc.

Step 1

Remove the face of the CD player and press and hold the "reset" button beneath the faceplate. The system should restart itself. This button must be pressed with a pen or a paperclip. Pressing it may resync the system to push out the disc.

Step 2

Press and hold the "eject" button on the player for up to three minutes. This might restart the system and eject the disc. You can also do this while repeatedly pressing the "power on" and "power off" button. The key must be in the ignition and turned to the "on" position.

Step 3

Push the disc from its stuck location with a set of tweezers or other small item. This might move the stuck CD up or down into the ejecting track. Wiggle the CD while holding the "eject" button.
