How to Remove the Headrest on a Buick
by Alibaster SmithThe headrest on a Buick uses special clips to keep it from coming up all the way out of the seat. Some people don't like the headrest, or want to remove it to so they can install a custom headrest with a DVD screen built into the back of it. Whatever your reason for pulling the headrest out, you'll need a special tool available from General Motors to remove it.
Step 1
Slide the headrest to the top position.
Step 2
Place the headrest removal tool flat against one of the two headrest posts, and slide the tool down into the top of the seat.
Step 3
Push down on the removal tool to unlock the post.
Step 4
Repeat the steps above for the other post, and then lift the headrest out of the seat.
Tips
- For specific information about your Buick, and for headrest operation instructions for your specific year and model, consult the particular vehicle's manual (see Resource).
