How to Code a Key for a 98 Honda Accord

These keys are sycned electronically to your engine and you can use them with your starter as a safety and convenience features. Once coded, only a programmed key can be used to start your car, and you can sync the keys in just seconds from your driver's seat.
Step 1
From the driver's seat insert your key into the ignition.
Step 2
Turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position, press the "lock" or "unlock" button on your remote and cycle the key back to the "off" position.
Step 3
Repeat the previous step two more times, for a total of three cycles, and turn the ignition switch back to the "on" position.
Step 4
Press the "lock' or "unlock" button on your remote again and wait for the door locks to automatically cycle.
Step 5
Turn the ignition back to "off" to end the programming sequence.
