How to Program the Key Fob for a Lincoln LS
by Christian KillianProgramming new remotes for the keyless entry system on your Lincoln LS takes a few minutes but can be done without tools and you can program up to four remotes at once. While the dealer can perform the programming, they will charge you a large fee to do so. You can purchase your new remote from the dealer if you need one then program them in the driveway at home when you are ready.
Step 1
Sit in the driver's seat and place the key into the ignition switch. Turn the key from the "Lock" positing to the "On" position. Turn the key back to the "Lock" position, repeating this eight times, ending in the "On" position after the eighth cycle.
Step 2
Wait for the doors to lock, then unlock, confirming that programming mode has been entered then depress any button of the new remote within 20 seconds of entering program mode. The doors will lock, then unlock, confirming the programming of the remote.
Step 3
Turn the key to the "Lock" position, remove the key from the ignition and test the programming by locking and unlocking the doors from outside the car. Be sure you have the original remote outside the car with you in case the programming did not work.
Step 4
Repeat the programming process for as many as four remotes per car.
