How to Reset the Oil Change Light in a 2003 Lincoln Town Car
by Tara KimballThe 2003 Lincoln Town Car includes a maintenance indicator light to remind you to change your engine oil when it reaches the end of its useable life. When you have your oil changed at a service center or dealership, the technician will typically reset the oil life indicator for you. If the technician forgets, or you change the oil at home, reset the system yourself in minutes.
Step 1
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to "ACC."
Step 2
Press the "MODE" button on the display panel until the oil life indicator is on the display.
Step 3
Press and hold the "MODE" button until "RESET FOR NEW OIL LIFE" appears.
Step 4
Press the "Reset" button. Hold the button for at least two seconds, then release. The engine oil life should display as reset.
