How to Design Your Dream Truck Online in 3D
by Missy J. TalbotIf a truck is what you seek, you can build one online. Several online sites let you build a truck in 3D, which gives you an idea of how the truck will look when it is finished. After you've customized your own truck in 3D, you can send the truck to a car company to have it build, or, sometimes, order it right off the online site itself. Or, you can customize a truck for the fun of it without worrying about ordering it when you're finished.
Step 1
Click on Parkway Motorcars (see Resources) and choose the type of truck that you would like to customize by clicking on the names of the brand or make of trucks. Then, click on the picture of the model of the truck or the name of the model of the truck you want to customize. A picture will appear of the truck you are customizing. Next to the picture you will see whatever customization options are available for that truck. Then, pick the trim, the colors, and the interior options by clicking on the list of available customization options. After you are finished click "finished" and a summary of the truck will appear, along with a quote for how much the truck will cost. You can also look at the 3D pictures of what the truck will look like. You can order the truck there, or print out the picture and take it into the dealership.
Step 2
Click on Bartow Ford (see Resources) and choose the type of truck you'd like to customize by clicking on the name or the picture of the trucks. A larger image will appear. Around the image, you will see the various customization options for that particular truck - all available trucks have different customization options. Choose the color, rims, and details for the truck based on the options available on the list by clicking the names or pictures of what you'd like, such as "green" or the small green box to make the truck green. Throughout the process, you can see what the truck will look like in a 3D image by turning it from side to side and looking at it from all angles. When you are finished, click "Finished" to see a complete image of the truck. You can order it from the site by clicking "order" or you can take the description or printed off picture to your own dealer to see what is available.
Step 3
Click on PickupTrucks (see Resources) and choose a type of truck that you'd like to customize by clicking on the picture of the truck you want. Then build it by picking a color from the list along the side. Choose rims by clicking on "Rims" and then picking the picture of the rims you like. Check mark boxes for interior and exterior details, such as air conditioning, a CD player, a pickup bed cover, racing stripes or other paint jobs, and whether you'd like two or four doors. Each time you choose a different option, the picture of the truck will change. When you are finished with the truck you'd like to customize, you can look at in a 3D image to see it from all sides. Then you can order the truck by clicking "order" or print off the image and take it into a dealer to get it created.
