It can be frustrating when you get into your vehicle and find the clock is not set properly. You may need to change the time setting if you have disconnected the battery for any reason, or if daylight savings time has just started. Setting the clock on your 1988 Chevrolet Silverado is a quick and easy procedure that takes just a few minutes to complete.
Step 1
Turn on the ignition, and turn off the radio.
Step 2
Locate the "Set" button below the clock. Push and hold it for 3 to 5 seconds, until the numbers on the clock flash.
Step 3
Push the "Scan" button up or down until the number flashes for the correct hour. Push the "Seek" button up or down to set the minutes in the same way.
Step 4
Press the "Set" button again to save your changes.
