How to Change the Time Clock in an Astro Vanby Leonardo R. Grabkowski
The Chevrolet Astro van came equipped with one of two radios, and the process of changing the time is different, depending on which radio is installed. You can identify which radio you have by closely examining the unit. If you see a "Set" button, use Section 1 to change the time. If you see an "HR" button, use Section 2. Neither radio clock updates for daylight savings time, so you'll need to change the time twice a year. You'll also need to change the time if the battery is disconnected; when this happens, the clock resets to "12:00."
Changing the Time on Radios with a "Set" Button
Insert your key in the ignition and turn it to "Acc" (accessory mode), or crank your engine.
Press the button labeled "Set" (on the right side of the radio), and then (within five seconds) press and hold the left "Seek" button to change the hour display.
Press and hold the right "Seek" button to change the minute display.
Changing the Time on Radios with a "HR" Button
Insert your key and turn the ignition to "Acc," or crank the engine.
Press and hold the button labeled "HR" to adjust the hour display. Release the button when the display shows the correct hour.
Press and hold the button labeled "MN" to adjust the minute display. Release the button when the display shows the correct minute.
