How to Change the Time on a Dodge Nitro Radio

by Leonardo R. Grabkowski

The Dodge Nitro SUV is available with one of two radios: the standard AM/FM CD player and the optional DVD navigation/multimedia radio. The navigation radio uses GPS (Global Positioning System) signals to automatically retrieve the correct time. However, you can manually set the system if the display is incorrect. If the time displayed on your navigation radio is incorrect, you may have a problem with your vehicle's GPS system. Consider having it checked out by a service professional.

Standard Radio

Start your Nitro's engine and turn on the radio (you can also turn the key to "Acc" without cranking the engine).

Press and hold the button on the radio marked "Time." After five to 10 seconds, the display will begin to blink.

Turn the "Tune" knob to the right to advance the hour display or turn it to the left to go backwards. Push the "Tune" knob when the hour is correct.

Turn the "Tune" knob again to change the minute display. Press the "Tune" knob to set the minutes.

DVD Navigation Radio

Turn on the navigation radio. Touch the part of the screen that displays the time.

Touch the tab labeled "User Clock" then touch "Hour." Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow next to "Hour" to set the hour display.

Touch the tab labeled "Min." Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow next to "Min" to set the minute display.

Touch the "Save" button on the clock setting screen.

Tip

  • Your DVD navigation radio should automatically retrieve the correct time via GPS, providing your time zone is correctly set. To set your time zone, touch the button that displays the time then touch "Set Time Zone." Choose your region from the map. Click "Save" to make the changes.
