How to Remove the Back Seat on Your 2005 F150 SuperCrew
by Gregory CrewsReplacing the back seat in a 2005 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab truck is necessary when you need the extra space in the back compartment for other equipment. The F-150 truck provides adequate cargo space but the removal of the back seat will open up more space in the cab of the truck for storage and anything best kept out of the elements. You'll need an assistant to help with this job.
Step 1
Park the truck on a flat and level surface. Turn the truck off and open the back door for access to the back seat.
Step 2
Locate the lever on the side of the seat. Pull the lever, allowing the seatback to tilt forward to make extra room to work.
Step 3
Unbolt the 10 bolts behind the seat with a socket wrench. There are three bolts on the right side of the seat. There are three on the left and four bolts along the length of the seat. Place all the bolts in a safe place so they will be available when you are ready to reinstall the seat.
Step 4
Tilt the seat back to its original position. Instruct your assistant to lift one side of the seat to help pick it up and carry it out the door. Place the seat in a dry covered area to keep it safe from the elements.
