How to Program Hyundai Lock Remotes
by Matthew FortunaHyundai vehicles of all types, including the Equus, Sonata and Elantra, feature keyless entry systems. These systems allow you to control your car's door locks, panic alarm and trunk release, all from as much as a couple hundred feet away. You can program the remotes in a few minutes from your driver's seat, and you can complete the process as often as is necessary to reprogram the system.
Step 1
Enter your Hyundai and remove the panels around your steering column dashboard. Do this to expose the programming connector terminals underneath.
Step 2
Connect your jumper wires to the 4 and 7 terminals in the connector.
Step 3
Press and hold either the Lock or Unlock button on your remote, and hold the button until the LED light on the remote flashes.
Step 4
Repeat the previous step with any additional remotes to complete the programming for each separate remote.
Step 5
Remove the jumper wires when finished to end the programming process.
