How to Reset the Alarm in Vehicles

You can reset the alarm in your Vehicles right from your home. The Vehicles comes equipped with an anti-theft system that is integrated with the power locking system. The alarm turns on when you lock the doors with a keyless entry remote. When you disable the battery in your Vehicles or have it replaced, the alarm system will need to be reset. You could always take it to the dealership to have it reset, but it will be cheaper and faster to do it yourself Vehicles home.

 How to Reset the Alarm in a 2001 Camry

Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position but don't start the engine. Find the valet switch located near the hood release. Turn the switch on and off quickly three times. Wait for the alarm to chirp.

Press and hold down the lock and unlock buttons on your keyless entry remote. Release the buttons when you hear a long beep from the alarm system.

Turn the valet switch on, then off again quickly. Turn off the vehicle and remove the ignition key. Lock the doors with the remote to see if it works.

 How to Reset the Alarm on a 2002 Jeep

Press the Jeep fob "Panic" button to stop the alarm. Alternatively, you can wait 3 minutes for the alarm to stop automatically. If you do not have the key fob, start the Jeep and drive it over 15 mph to stop the alarm.

Use the key fob or Jeep key to unlock the doors. This will fully disarm the security system.

Press the power lock button inside the car on the driver side panel, then close all the doors including the back and hood. Alternatively, close the doors first then press the "lock" button on the Jeep key fob.

Wait 16 seconds for the red light on the control panel to flash and do not open any doors or press any button on the key fob during this time. After the time has passed, the alarm will be reset again.

 How to Reset the Alarm on a 2006 Toyota Corolla

Press the "panic button" on the back of the Corolla remote to shut off the alarm. You need to be within three feet of the Corolla for the remote to work.

Press the "Unlock" button twice on the remote.

Open the driver's door on the vehicle to make sure the alarm has be deactivated, then close the door again.

Press the "Lock" button twice on the remote to lock the door. The alarm will be armed again. If you have all the doors closed and do not open one within 30 seconds, they will lock automatically and the alarm will be armed again.

Open the driver door. Leave the passenger door closed.

Press the power-lock switch on the interior driver-door control panel with the door still open. The "Security" light comes on.

Close the driver door. The "Security" light turns off to indicate that the alarm system is reset.
