How Do I Set the Clock on a 1998 Chevrolet?

by Leonardo R. Grabkowski

Chevrolet vehicles manufactured in 1998 came with either an automatic tone control radio or a standard radio. Setting the clock is the same in all 1998 Chevrolet vehicles, including the Cavalier, Suburban, Tahoe, Camaro and Corvette. The vehicle must be turned on while you set the clock. You might need to set the clock if you move to a different time zone, or if you have replaced the Chevrolet's battery, which would cause the clock to reset.

1998 Chevrolet Radios Without Automatic Tone Control

Press the "Set" button located on the right side of the Chevy's radio.

Press and hold the "Seek Right" button to advance the minute. When the right minute shows on the clock, let go of the button.

Press and hold the "Seek Left" button to set the hour. Release the button when the right hour shows.

1998 Chevrolet Radios With Automatic Tone Control

Locate the HR and MN buttons on the right side of the radio.

Press and hold "HR." Release HR when the Chevy's radio shows the correct hour.

Press and hold "MN" until the radio shows the correct minute, then release it.
