How to Set the Clock in a 2000 Malibu

by Leonardo R. Grabkowski

The 2000 Chevrolet Malibu's digital clock is integrated with the car's factory radio. To set the clock, you'll use the radio's control buttons. There are two types of radios in the 2000 Chevy Malibu: the model with "Automatic Tone Control" and the model without. The model without the feature is the basic AM/FM radio; the other models have either a CD or cassette player. How you set the clock varies slightly between the two radios.

Set the Clock on the Basic AM/FM Radio

Step 1

Turn your 2000 Malibu's ignition on or crank the car's engine. Push the "Set" button on the right side of the car's radio.

Step 2

Press and hold the "Right Seek" arrow within five seconds to begin adjusting the "Minute." When the minute figure is properly adjusted, release the arrow.

Step 3

Press and hold the "Left Seek" arrow to adjust the hour. When the hour figure is properly adjusted, release the arrow. The Malibu's clock is now set. Turn the ignition off to exit the clock set mode.

Set the Clock on the CD or Cassette Player

Step 1

Locate the "HR" and "MN" buttons on the right side of the radio. The buttons are beneath "Auto Tone."

Step 2

Turn the Malibu's ignition to "On." Push and hold "HR" to adjust the hour. Release "HR" when the hour is properly adjusted.

Step 3

Push and hold the "MN" button to adjust the minute. Release "MN" when the minute display is properly adjusted.
