Toyota Camry Hybrid Oil Change Information
by Justin CuplerNearly every automaker now offers a hybrid vehicle, but Toyota was the trendsetter with its Prius in 2001, and continued the trend with the Camry Hybrid in 2007. Part of the reason the 2014 Camry Hybrid is capable of achieving 43 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway is the low-weight engine oil that its 2.5-liter powerplant uses.
2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid Oil Specs
The 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid requires 4.6 quarts of oil. This oil capacity is, of course, simply a reference, and you must check the oil after refilling it to assure it is in the specified range on the dipstick. Toyota recommends using 0W-20 oil in the Camry Hybrid, but you can use 5W-20 if the specified oil is not available. If you use 5W-20 oil, Toyota says that you must replace it with 0W-20 oil at the next oil change.
