How to Reset the Oil in a 2005 Pacifica
by Melanie FleuryThe 2005 Chrysler Pacifica comes equipped with monitoring system that tells you how far you have traveled since the last oil change and reminds you when to change your oil again. The instrument gauge will show you an oil change symbol when it is time to replace your oil. When the oil is changed by a professional, they will reset the oil monitoring system so that it can properly alert you again. If you change the oil yourself, you will have to reset the oil system yourself.
Step 1
Turn the key in your ignition to "ACC." Do not start the engine.
Step 2
Press the "Step" button. This button is located on the instrument panel under the display that tells you how many miles until the car needs to have the oil changed again.
Step 3
Press the "Reset" button until the display shows "3000 Miles to Service."
Step 4
Turn the key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition. The oil monitoring system has been reset.
