How to Reset the Maintenance Light on a Mercedes Benz C300
by Tara KimballThe Mercedes C300 Series includes a monitoring system that triggers an alert when your car is due for an oil change or other service. Service technicians at a Mercedes dealership typically clear the alert and reset the service. Resetting the service and clearing the alert at home requires just a few minutes.
Step 1
Sit in the driver's seat of the car, and place the key in the ignition. Turn the key until it reaches the first position.
Step 2
Press the "menu" button on your instrument panel, until the current mileage appears on the display.
Step 3
Press and hold the "Reset" button on the instrument panel for three seconds. Press "Reset" again to confirm when the service-interval-reset prompt appears.
Step 4
Turn the key to "OFF," and remove it from the ignition.
