How to Reprogram a Dodge Key Fob
by Matthew FortunaProgramming key fob remotes for your Dodge vehicle, whether done by the dealership or an automotive store, is likely a process that you will not have to worry about. What you may have to concern yourself with, however, is the reprogramming process, which may be necessary if your remotes lose their signal or need to be replaced. This process, like regular programming, can be done in just minutes using your remote and your car's key.
Step 1
Sit in your car with your remote and your key FOB. Press the lock button on the remote with your left hand. Press and release the button five times within ten seconds. Complete each of the following steps within ten seconds of the last step.
Step 2
Insert your key into the Dodge ignition and turn the key to the "Run" position. You can leave the key there until the chimes in the car start and then stop.
Step 3
Press and hold the "Unlock" button on your remote for four seconds and press the "Panic" button while still holding the other button. Release the buttons at the same time to open the programming mode.
Step 4
Press and release both "Lock" and "Unlock" and then press and hold "Unlock" until the car responds with a lock cycle. Your remote will then be programmed and you can test it after you remove the key from the ignition.
