Electronic ignition keys have become popular accessories for vehicles all around the world. Such a key is used as an extra convenience and safety feature, and is programmed to your car's engine and starter system. Once programmed, only another synced key can be used to start your car. Programming the key of a Volkswagen can be done in just seconds from your driver's seat.

Enter your car with your key and close all of the car doors behind you.

Insert your key into the ignition and turn the ignition on.

Press the "Unlock" button on the remote portion of the key and wait six seconds.

Press the "Unlock" button a second time and wait for the car horn to sound to indicate successful programming.
