How to Set the Clock on a Cavalier Car
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiThe Chevrolet Cavalier was available with two different radios in its final body style (1995 to 2005). The standard radio was incapable of receiving data transmission from radio stations. The Premium radio was equipped with RDS or Radio Data Systems. The clock time in either radio can be set using the same procedure. However, if your radio has the letters "RDS" printed on it, you can sync the clock with the radio station in tune.
Step 1
Turn your ignition key to the "Acc" or "On" position, but do not crank the engine.
Step 2
Hold the minute arrow (MIN) for two seconds to enter programming mode. Press the hour arrow (HR) until the correct hour is displayed.
Step 3
Press the minute arrow (MIN) until the correct minute is displayed. Wait until the display returns to normal, then turn off the ignition.
Tips
- RDS radio clocks can also be synced to FM radio signals. To sync your clock's time with a station, make sure your radio is on a valid FM station. Then hold the hour (HR) and minute (MN) buttons until the radio displays "Updated." The time display on your clock will automatically change to the time issued by the FM broadcast.
