How to Remove the Rear Seat of a Toyota Avalon
by Richard RistowYou can easily remove a Toyota Avalon's rear seats. This might be necessary for a few reasons. You can replace the seats if you are customizing your car, or you may need to repair or remove the carpet. No matter the reason, removal should not take long.
Step 1
Open the driver- and passenger-side doors and slide the front seats forward. While this is not an essential step, it will give you extra room to work. Shut both doors once the seats have been moved.
Step 2
Lift up the forward edge of the bottom seat cushion. Locate the mounting bolt and remove it with a socket wrench.
Step 3
Remove the bottom seat cushion and carefully pull it from the Avalon.
Step 4
Locate the seat back's four mounting bolts and remove them.
Step 5
Lift the seat back up and remove it from the Avalon.
