How to Program a Keyless Remote for an Isuzu

Isuzu no longer sells passenger cars or trucks in the United States, but the company did for many years, which means that there are still a number of Isuzu vehicles on the road. If you are the owner of an Isuzu vehicle, you may one day need to program a keyless remote for the vehicle. On most Isuzu vehicles, you can do this yourself without dealer assistance.

Axiom, Amigo, Rodeo and Trooper

Step 1

Sit inside the Isuzu with the doors closed and the key out of the ignition. Open the driver's door.

Step 2

Put the Isuzu's key in the ignition. Turn the key to "Acc" mode, and then to "Lock." Do this a total of three times within three seconds.

Step 3

Close the driver's door. Open the driver's door. Close the driver's door. Open it again.

Step 4

Turn the key to "Acc" mode, and then to "Lock." Do this a total of three times within three seconds again.

Step 5

Close the driver's door and then open. The doors will lock and unlock. Press "Lock" on the remote you are programming. The doors will lock. Press "Unlock." The remote is programmed. Remove the key.

Ascender

Step 1

Sit inside the Isuzu Ascender. Verify that the doors are closed. Put the key in the ignition. Push "Lock" on the door control pad. Continue to hold it.

Step 2

Turn the ignition to "On." Turn the ignition to "Off." Turn the ignition to "On." Turn the ignition to "Off." Do this quickly.

Step 3

Let go of the "Lock" button on the door control pad. The doors will lock then unlock. Push "Lock" and Unlock" on the remote. Hold the buttons down until the doors lock and unlock. Turn the key to "On." Turn the key to "Off." Remove the key.
