How to Open a Ford Taurus Car Hood
by R.L. CultronaIf you drive a Ford Taurus, you will want to make sure that you have the ability to get into the engine compartment to do routine maintenance. In order to access this area of your Taurus, you will need to open the hood of the vehicle. The hood is a large metal plate which covers the top of the front section of the vehicle
Step 1
Open the driver's-side door of the Taurus and sit in the driver's seat. Reach with your left hand underneath the dashboard to find the hood latch. Pull the hood latch toward you to pop the hood up.
Step 2
Move the the front of the vehicle, just in front of the hood. Place your hand in the space between the hood and the car and locate the auxiliary latch. Push the latch toward the roof of the hood and push the hood up.
Step 3
While holding the hood up, reach down with your other hand and pull the support brace from its resting place on top of the frame at the front of the Taurus and place the hook into a hole on the side of the hood. This will keep the hood from falling down.
