How to Install a Cabin Air Filter in a Saturn Aura
by David ClairThe Saturn Aura is available in both gas-electric hybrid and traditional gasoline only models. Both models have a compartment behind the glove box that accommodates a cabin air filter. The cabin air filter prevents dust and allergens from entering the air-conditioning system through the outside vents. Once the filter has been installed, it should be replaced when it becomes dirty, or after every 10,000 miles driven.
Step 1
Open the glove box. Unhook the stopper arm from its hook on the right side of the open glove box.
Step 2
Press in on the sides of the glove box to unhook it from the dash. Pivot the glove box down toward the floor.
Step 3
Cut the plastic rectangle that is labeled "cut out for air filter" with the razor blade. Discard the cut out portion.
Step 4
Slide the cabin air filter into the slot. Make sure the "airflow" arrow printed on the filter is pointing toward the floor of the Saturn Aura.
Step 5
Raise the glove box to hook it back into the dash. Replace the stopper arm on the right side.
