How to Reset a Keyless Entry
by Matthew FortunaKeyless entry systems are almost standard on all types of vehicles around the world. These systems can be programmed, reprogrammed and reset to your car's transmitter anytime you want or need to reset. You might need to reset if your signal is lost, or if you would like to reprogram the remotes if one is stolen or misplace. Programming and resetting can be done in minutes and is ready to use immediately.
Step 1
Sit in your driver's seat and insert your key into the ignition. Turn the key from its "Off" position to the "Run" position, which is two clicks to the right.
Step 2
Cycle the key back to "Off" and complete seven more cycles from "Off" to "Run," for a total of eight cycles. End the eighth time in the "Run" position.
Step 3
Press and hold any button on your remote within 20 seconds. Hold the button until the locks cycle and it will be successfully programmed. Do the same thing to reset any additional remotes or remove the key from the ignition to end the programming mode.
