A theft-deterent system is a common feature on most General Motors vehicles, and these systems feature hand-held wireless remotes. The remote system offers a number of convenience and safety features, and it can be set and reset to your vehicle anytime. If your car system loses the signal, you can resync it to the remotes in just a few minutes from your car's driver's seat.

Step 1

Enter your car holding your ignition key and your remote and make sure all the doors are closed.

Step 2

Insert your key into the ignition. Press and hold the "Unlock" button for the driver's-side door.

Step 3

Cycle your ignition "On" without starting the engine and then back "Off" twice in a row, and then release the "Unlock" tab after the second cycle.

Step 4

Wait for the door locks to click automatically, and then press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on your remote.

Step 5

Hold the buttons for up to 30 seconds until the locks cycle on and off again. This will indicate successful programming and you can then remove your key from the ignition.
