How to Repair the Lights on a Lexus ES300 Cluster
by Daniel ValladaresRepairing the cluster lights on your Lexus ES300 requires the removal of the vehicle's dashboard. The dashboard is comprised of several components, which are held in by a number of screws in various places. Once you have removed the dashboard, you can pull the instrument panel from the vehicle to repair the cluster lights. The main problem with a broken cluster light usually involves the bulb, so the best way to repair the light is to replace it.
Step 1
Turn off the engine.
Step 2
Remove the two screws from the upper portion of the dashboard panel on the driver's side and the two screws from the lower portion as well.
Step 3
Pull the panels out of the vehicle in order to access the instrument panel.
Step 4
Remove the two screws securing the instrument panel to the ES300 and swivel the panel upwards to reveal the electrical plug. Unplug it and pull the instrument panel out of the vehicle.
Step 5
Disengage the six snaps holding the instrument panel together. On the underside of the front of the instrument panel are the bulbs.
Step 6
Pull out any burnt-out bulbs and replace them with new bulbs. The bulbs simply click into place when installed properly.
Step 7
Reassemble the instrument panel and place it back into the vehicle. Secure it by reinstalling the two screws and reconnect the plug.
Step 8
Reattach the dashboard panels and their accompanying screws.
