Removal of a Chevy S-10 headliner may be required for a variety of reasons. Fortunately, the procedure is quick and not particularly difficult. Care should be taken, however, if the headliner is to be retained, because headliners are nothing more than shaped foam boards that have felt material glued to one side. Breaking them is easy to do, and they may not be repaired once broken.

Step 1

Loosen the two front trim posts of the S-10's interior; they are difficult to remove entirely. Remove the rear two trim posts.

Step 2

Position the seats all the way forward to give yourself room to work.

Step 3

Unscrew and remove the dome light from above the rear window of the truck. Remove the screws securing the sun visors and remove the visors.

Step 4

Pull the headliner down from the back of the cab of the truck. The front of the headliner will slide out from the front trim panels. Turn the headliner on its side and remove it through either side door.
