Like new keyless entry systems, used keyless entry systems can be programmed or reprogrammed in just minutes from the driver's seat. Using your keyless remote and your ignition key, programming will have you ready to use this safety and convenience feature right away. As long as the transmitter is installed and working, programming the remote is a simple process that requires only a few turns of the ignition key and a few presses of the correct buttons on your remote.

Step 1

Enter your vehicle with your used remote and your ignition key with all of the doors and the trunk closed.

Step 2

Insert your key into the ignition.

Step 3

Turn the key to the "On" position, press the "Lock" button on your remote and return the key back to the "Off" position.

Step 4

Repeat the previous step three more types, ending in the "On" position with the key after the fourth cycle.

Step 5

Press the "Lock" button on your remote to initiate the programming sequence.

Step 6

Press "Lock" again on any additional remotes, waiting for the locks to cycle after each remote to indicate successful programming.

Step 7

Remove the key from the ignition to end the programming sequence.
