How to Locate the Fuel Filter on a 2000 Cadillac
by Gregory CrewsLocating the fuel filter on a 2000 Cadillac is essential when it comes time to change it out with a new one. The fuel filter on a Cadillac should be changed out every 30,000 miles to ensure the fuel system is clean of debris and sediment. The vehicle's horsepower can deteriorate if routine filter maintenance is neglected. Changing the filter starts with being able to identify its location.
Step 1
Park the Cadillac on a flat and level surface. Ensure the parking brake is set.
Step 2
Crawl under the back of the vehicle on the passenger side to locate the fuel tank. The fuel tank is located in the back of the vehicle under the trunk.
Step 3
Trace the fuel line that runs the distance of the vehicle toward the front. The fuel line will run along the passenger side of the vehicle.
Step 4
Look under the vehicle in front of the passenger side rear tire along the frame. The fuel line will have a silver canister bolted in the fuel line. The silver canister is the fuel filter.
