How to Disable a Factory Alarm on a 2000 Chrysler Sebring
by David ClairThe 2000 Chrysler Sebring is equipped with an anti-theft alarm system that uses sensors built into the vehicle to detect attempted unauthorized access. The system monitors the doors, trunk and ignition. When the alarm is triggered, an audible alarm sounds through the horn and the Sebring's lights flash. The alarm signals for up to 18 minutes or until it is disabled. Once the alarm is activated, the engine will not start until the alarm is disabled.
Step 1
Press the "unlock" button on the keyless entry remote once.
Step 2
Insert the key into the driver's door lock.
Step 3
Turn the key toward the front of the Sebring to unlock the door. The alarm is disabled.
