Your Honda Fit is equipped with an automated monitoring system to remind you when it is time to change the engine oil. If you choose to change the oil yourself or take it to a small mechanic shop, chances are you will need to reset the monitoring system so that it knows that there is new oil in the engine. You do not need a dealership service department to reset the monitoring system. You can adjust your engine oil life indicators at home in minutes so that you always know when the oil in your Fit needs to be changed.

Step 1

Sit in the driver seat of your car and insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition to the “ON” position.

Step 2

Push the “Select/Reset” knob and continue pushing it until the display screen shows the engine oil life. Push and hold the “Select/Reset” knob and count to ten.

Step 3

Watch for the oil life display to blink. Continue to hold the reset button for another five seconds. Any displayed maintenance codes will disappear and the engine oil life will reset to 100.
