How to Reset the Oil Change Due Light on a Dodge
by David ClairUpdated July 21, 2017Many Dodge cars and trucks are equipped with maintenance reminder systems that illuminate oil change reminder lights on the dashboards when the cars' computers determine it's time for service. After the engine oil and filter are changed, the oil change reminder light must be reset in order for the system to accurately track when the next service will be due. A Dodge technician will reset the light if you take your Dodge to the dealer service department for an oil change. If you change the oil in your Dodge yourself, though, you can manually reset the reminder light.
Turn the ignition switch to the "on" position. Do not start the engine.
Depress the accelerator pedal fully, three times within 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to the "off" position.
Start the engine. If the oil change light illuminates and stays lit, repeat the previous steps.
