How to Hard Reset a Ford Navigation System
by Jessica BestFord navigation is an option available on all Ford vehicles as an add-on to the "SYNC" audio system. With navigation, users have the ability to talk on the phone with a Bluetooth-enabled device, receive turn-by-turn directions, locate Points of Interests, and transfer phonebooks and data from a phone to the system. On occasion, the navigation system may need to have a master reset performed. This task permanently deletes all data stored on the system and resets the preferences to the factory settings.
Step 1
Tap the "Phone" button located on the top left corner of the screen.
Step 2
Click "Settings" and "Advanced" from the touchscreen.
Step 3
Select the "Master Reset" option by scrolling down the advanced settings menu.
Step 4
Press "Yes" when asked to confirm the master reset. A notification of completion will appear on the touchscreen when the reset is completed.
