How Do I Turn off a Maintenance Light on a 2002 Acura Tl?
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiThe "maintenance required" light is programmed to come on every 7,500 miles, reminding you to bring your Acura TL in for its scheduled service (oil change and tire rotation). Employees at your Acura dealer should reset this light for you, but if they don't, or if you have the car serviced elsewhere, you can reset the system yourself.
Step 1
Turn off your engine, but leave the keys in the ignition.
Step 2
Press and hold the two buttons to the right of your speedometer, on the dash. The buttons are labeled "Sel" and "Reset." Continue to hold the buttons until instructed to release them.
Step 3
Turn the key to the second ignition position (labeled "II"). After 10 to 15 seconds, the maintenance light will flash, and then disappear. Release the buttons and turn the key off.
