How to Disconnect a Remote Start
by Matthew FortunaRemote starters have become common accessories on cars of all different types. These starter systems are controlled by wireless remotes that can be added to your keychain. You can disconnect the remote starter from inside the car if you do not want it activated. This can be done from inside your car's dashboard by accessing the module itself.
Step 1
Remove the dashboard panels around the steering column to expose the starter module underneath. You can remove these panels by popping them off with a flat blade.
Step 2
Locate the starter module and find the wire that is connected to the car's positive battery terminal.
Step 3
Disconnect this wire at the module end to disable the remote starter system.
