Chevy Silverado Ltz Options

by Leonardo R. Grabkowski

The LTZ trim level is the "top of the line" version of the Chevrolet Silverado. Lesser trim models include the Base model, the LS model, and the LT model. Despite coming with a number of standard features, potential purchasers still have options available when shopping the Silverado LTZ. Some are performance related; others are related to comfort and convenience.

White Diamond Edition Package

The Silverado LTZ's White Diamond Edition Package is primarily an exterior appearance package. Its features include 20-inch chrome wheels, a high-performance suspension package, chrome door handles, exterior mirrors, and body side moldings.

Entertainment System

The Silverado LTZ's entertainment system is a rear-entertainment system. This system includes a flip-down television screen with a built-in DVD player between the front and second row of seats. It is intended for the rear passengers. It also comes with a remote control, wireless headphones, and a USB port.

Z71 Off-Road Suspension

Chevrolet's well-known Z71 package is not only available for the LS and LT Silverado models; it's also available for the LTZ. The Z71 package includes an independent front suspension and a live rear suspension. It also includes a front stabilizer bar and special badging. It is most frequently equipped on four-wheel drive models, but it is available on two-wheel drive models as well.

6.2L Vortec V8 Engine

The Silverado LTZ's standard engine is a 5.3L Vortec V8. However, a larger and more power engine is available. This engine is the 6.2L Vortec V8 engine. It is compatible with flex fuel and produces 400 horsepower. Its fuel economy rating is 9 mpg in the city and 13 on the highway.

Navigation System

The Silverado LTZ is either available with a GPS navigation system or a DVD based navigation system. The GPS navigation system requires no discs. It gets its maps from a GPS signal. When using the DVD navigation system, one must insert the appropriate navigation disc for the area. Both systems are located in the radio slot; they both include built-in radio/CD player systems.
