How to Change a Nissan Versa Flat Tire
by Sameca PandovaThe Nissan Versa is equipped with a space-saver spare tire. This small tire is situated underneath the trunk floor. Replacement of a spare tire on your Nissan Versa is a simple procedure which requires no special tools, since all required tools are provided in your vehicle.
Step 1
Park your Versa safely away from traffic. Do not attempt to change your tire while exposed to passing cars. Engage your parking brake. Lift the trunk or hatch floor up and unscrew the large round screw that holds the spare tire in the tire well.
Step 2
Remove the lug nut wrench and scissor jack from the spare tire well along with the spare tire. Use the flat end of the lug nut wrench to remove the hubcap on the flat tire, then use the wrench to loosen the lug nuts.
Step 3
Use the scissor jack to raise your Versa. Examine the bottom of the car immediately in front of the rear tire or immediately behind the front tires. There will be a metal lip that extends downwards. The scissor jack has a notch that will fit this tab. Position the jack underneath the lift point and raise the car until the tire is no longer touching the ground.
Step 4
Remove the lug nuts and remove the flat tire. Install the spare tire and tighten the lug nuts by hand, making sure that the spare tire is seated firmly on the axle. Lower the Versa with the scissor jack. Tighten the lug nuts in a criss-cross pattern with the lug nut wrench. Reinstall the hubcap.
