How to Change the Air Filter in a 2003 Chevy Venture
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiChevrolet recommends having your air filter in your 2003 Venture inspected at 15,000-mile intervals, and replacing it if necessary. If the filter doesn't require replacement at 15,000 miles, a 30,000-mile service interval is recommended. You can change the van's air filter at home in about 10 to 15 minutes. The procedure, as well as the filter part number, is applicable to all 1999 to 2005 Chevrolet Ventures. Chevrolet recommends AC Delco factory-replacement parts, but you can use other brands as well.
Step 1
Locate the filter box and the air duct attached to it. They are located on the driver's side engine compartment, directly beneath the coolant reservoir. The work space is tight, but you can remove the filter without removing the reservoir.
Step 2
Loosen the screws on both air-duct clamps. This loosens the connection between the air duct and the filter box. Pull the air duct away from the filter box.
Step 3
Flip open the two clamps on the filter box. Pull the left side of the filter box off to access the filter. Pull the filter straight out to remove it.
Step 4
Place the new filter in the filter box. Push the left side of the filter box against the right side; push up the clamps to secure the sides together.
Step 5
Re-attach the air duct to the vent on the filter box. Tighten the screws on the clamps to finish.
