2010 Jetta TDI Oil Specifications

The 2010 Jetta TDI is a sports sedan that has a diesel engine instead of a traditional engine that uses regular unleaded gasoline. Volkswagen has very strict oil requirements for its cars, particularly the TDI, and only one type of oil is recommended by VW for use in the 2010 Jetta TDI.
Oil
Volkswagen recommends Castrol Synthetic SLX Professional motor oil. The oil must have the VW 504 00/507 00 specification, which will be printed on the back. Using any other oil could damage your engine's internal components.
Oil Filter
The oil filter is, literally, the element that filters dirt and other particles out of the oil as it circulates in the engine. While various manufacturers produce applicable oil filters for the car, the OEM part (produced by Volkswagen) is numbered VW/Audi# 071 115 562 c. This oil filter looks like a yellow cone with cloth ridges.
Capacity and Intervals
The Jetta's oil capacity is 4.3 quarts. Four one-liter bottles make 4.2 quarts, which should be adequate. The oil should be changed every 8,000 to 10,000 miles.
