How to Update GMC Navigation

On an annual basis, General Motors issues navigation updates for almost every GM factory-installed navigation system. The purpose of the updates is to help keep the navigation systems current with new locations and improved directions. To update your GMC navigation system, you will need to visit the GM Navigation Disc Center website. On the site, you will need to search for the latest updates and purchase the correct update disc for your vehicle.

Visit the GM Navigation Disc Center website (see References). Read the box on the right-hand side of the page labeled “Find Your GM Nav Disc.”

Click on the “Search" button located in the bottom right corner of the box. Once the search page loads, use the drop-down menus to select the make, model and year of your vehicle. Click on the "Search" button. The results will appear for all navigation update discs available for your vehicle.

Scroll down until you find the correct update disc for your vehicle. Enter the number of discs you want in the “Quantity” box. Click on the “Add Items to Cart” button.

Click on the “Checkout” button to finish the purchase of your navigation update disc. Fill in all of your shipping and billing information. Review for accuracy. Click on the "Submit" button to complete your order.

Tip

  • check You cannot obtain update discs from your dealer. You can only order them by going to the GM Navigation Disc Center website, or by calling 1-877-628-3472.
