Roadtrek has been manufacturing Class B motorhomes, also known as camper vans, since 1983. By 1990, the brand become the best-selling Class B motorhome in North America. Roadtrek motorhomes are built on Chevrolet and Mercedes van bodies and customized by the company. The Roadtrek 170 is built on a Chevrolet 2500 van body.

Vehicle Specifications

The 2010 Roadtrek 170 has a 285-horsepower, 4.8-liter, V8 gasoline engine. The engine's torque is 295 pound-feet, and it has a six-speed heavy-duty transmission. The 170 has four-wheel anti-lock disc breaks. Safety features include a standard theft-deterrent system, driver and passenger side airbags, three seatbelts in the rear, tire-pressure monitoring and a rear-view camera system for backup. Standard features include climate control, cruise control, power windows, power locks, automatic headlights and a tilt steering wheel. The motorhome has an AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3 entertainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen in the front. The fuel tank holds 31 gallons.

The 2010 Roadtrek 170 sleeps four people. It has two fold-down single beds in the front and a double or queen bed in the rear. The kitchen area has a 0.7-cubic-foot, 700-watt microwave oven, a 3.0-cubic-foot refrigerator, a two-burner propane stove and a sink. There is a dining table in the front and in the rear. The vehicle is carpeted throughout with 40-ounce nylon carpeting. A 9-foot, 10-inch awning is standard as is a 12,000-BTU air conditioner and heat pump. The bathroom can be enclosed with a bi-fold door, and a stand-up shower can be set up in the aisle. The motorhome has connection outlets for exterior power and cable TV. The rear home-theater, DVD/CD/AM/FM system has 5.1 surround sound and dual center speakers with a standard 17-inch LCD screen. A 19-inch LCD screen with remote is optional.

Interior Dimensions

Standing height inside the 2010 Roadtrek 170 is 73 inches. The aisle is 30 inches wide. The rear queen or double bed is 73 inches long and 50 inches wide. The left front bed is 58 inches long and the right front bed is 74 inches long. Both front beds are 22 inches wide.

Exterior Dimensions and Weight

The 2010 Roadtrek 170 is 18 feet, 9 inches long, 8 feet, 9 inches high and 6 feet, 7 inches wide. It has a wheelbase of 135 inches. Unloaded, the motorhome weighs 7,200 pounds, and the maximum gross weight with fuel, propane, water, cargo and passengers is 12,000 pounds. The motorhome can tow up to 4,600 pounds.
