How to Reset the Maintenance Light on a 2006 Scion XB
by Leonardo R. GrabkowskiScion vehicles have a maintenance reminder programmed into the odometer instrument cluster. This reminder displays a maintenance light ("Main Req") when your Scion is due for an oil change. After changing the oil, you'll need to reset the maintenance light. You can reset the light in less than five minutes; a visit to the Scion dealer is not required.
Step 1
Insert your key into the ignition and start the engine.
Step 2
Press the odometer toggle stem until the total mileage is displayed (not the "trip" mileage).
Step 3
Turn the key to the "Off" position.
Step 4
Press and hold the odometer stem. Turn the key to "On" without starting the engine.
Step 5
Hold the odometer stem until the display shows "000000." Turn the key to "Off" then turn it back on.
