How to Replace a Nissan Glove Box Latch

Nissan has manufactured the classy Altima with a glove box latch that can be removed and replaced with a few simple steps. You will need to replace the glove box latch when it no longer operates properly and when it is broken. You can prevent the Nissan's glove box latch from breaking by opening and pulling on it carefully.
Step 1
Park the Nissan on a level surface.
Step 2
Open the Nissan's front passenger door and locate the glove box on the right side of the dashboard.
Step 3
Detach the screws that connect the glove box striker to the glove box, using a power drill.
Step 4
Detach the screws that connect the glove box housing to the glove box door, using a power drill. Slide the Nissan's glove box housing away with the glove box door.
Step 5
Pull and detach the Nissan's glove box harness, trunk cancel switch and damper clip away from the glove box.
Step 6
Pull and detach the glove box pins to separate the glove box housing from the glove box door.
Step 7
Detach the screws that hold in the Nissan's glove box latch, using a power drill. Slide away the glove box latch.
Step 8
Insert a new glove box latch and secure it with the screws that were removed. Reassemble and reattach the Nissan's glove box pins, glove box housing, damper clip, trunk cancel switch, glove box harness, glove box striker and glove box door.
