PT Cruiser Wiper Problemsby Kimberly Walker
PT Cruiser owners have filed complaints on 2006 and 2007 models with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Many of the complaints involve front and rear windshield-wiper failure, non-functional speed controls on front wipers and a faulty front-power-module. There have been no Chrysler safety recalls for windshield wipers.
General Wiper Problems
Problems reported by 2007, 2006, 2003 and 2001 PT Cruiser owners across the nation include wipers only working on high, stopping in mid-position when turned off, wipers not coming on or never working at all and a faulty front-power-module.
Rear Wiper Problems
PT Cruiser owners of 2001 and 2006 models have also complained specifically of rear windshield wipers not working at all, rusting on rear windshield wipers and rear windshield wipers not cleaning the rear window.
Check your PT Cruiser owner's manual for solutions if your wipers malfunction. Repairs could involve fuses, loose or bad wiring or a bad wiper motor. Take your PT Cruiser to an authorized mechanic or dealership to have the problem diagnosed and fixed. Check your manufacturer's warranty to determine if the problem is covered. Otherwise, you are responsible for the costs of repair work.
