Montero Sport Headlight Removal Instructions
by Tara KimballIf a bulb burns out on your Mitsubishi Montero Sport or you want to change the headlights, you will need to remove the old bulb before you can install a replacement. The Montero Sport uses a 9007 headlight bulb, available from most auto parts retailers and Mitsubishi dealerships. There is no need to make a service center appointment to have the bulbs replaced. You can remove and change the headlight bulbs at home in minutes.
Step 1
Raise the hood of your Montero Sport. Lift the support rod to keep the hood open while you work.
Step 2
Disconnect the wiring harness on the rear of the headlight assembly by pulling the connector straight back. Turn the retaining ring counterclockwise and slide it back off the bulb.
Step 3
Grab the bulb and turn it counterclockwise to release it from the assembly. Pull the bulb toward the engine to remove it from the assembly.
