Polaris Trailblazer 250 Specs

According to Power Sports Network, this ATV is a full-sized, reliable quad with an affordable price tag -- $3,599 for a 2006 model, which is the latest available model. Polaris designates this particular ATV as a sports model and backs it up with a six-year warranty.
Engine
The 2005 Polaris Trailblazer 250 generates its power on the road with a single-cylinder, four-stroke, oil-injected engine, which uses both air and liquid cooling to prevent overheating. At full throttle, it has a total power displacement of 244 cubic centimeters. The engine comes to life via an electric starter with a recoil backup. Additionally, the quad can hold up to 3.5 gallons of fuel and 2 quarts of oil.
Transmission
The rear-wheel drive Trailblazer 250 uses a Polaris Variable Transmission, which is the Polaris version of a Continuously Variable Transmission. Essentially, a CVT is an automatic transmission with a limited number of forward gears. A concentric chain transfers power from the engine to the rear wheels, which provide the quad complete forward, neutral and reverse capabilities.
Suspension
The 2005 Polaris Trailblazer 250 suspension system features a front MacPherson strut with 8.2 inches of travel. Unlike the front suspension, the rear wheels are given a progressive-rate swing arm with 10.5 inches of travel. According to the manufacturer, the suspension delivers a bump-absorbing, super smooth ride.
Brakes
Hydraulic disc brakes are used on both the front and rear wheels to bring this 461-pound ATV to a halt. The front brakes are operated by a single lever at the handlebars, while the rear brakes are activated with a foot pedal on the side of the vehicle.
Warnings
Always use your rear brakes when traveling at high speeds to prevent flipping your ATV. Rear brakes are best used when traveling fast or riding downhill.
Tires and Wheels
All four of the Trailblazer's vulcanized rubber tires are provided by Carlisle, and are designed specifically for ATVs to provide traction in both on- and off-road conditions. The front tires are 23 inches by 7 inches, and the rear tires are 22 inches by 11 inches.
Features
The 2005 Polaris Trailblazer 250 comes standard with halogen headlights. Standard instrumentation includes a high-beam indicator, a neutral/reverse light, and high temperature/low oil warning lights. The Trailblazer 250 has a front load capacity of 90 pounds, a rear load capacity of 180 pounds and 1,225 pounds of towing capacity. From front to back, its wheelbase maxes out at 48 inches. The chassis clears the ground by 5.5 inches and the seat positions the driver 34 inches off the ground.
Optional equipment on the quad includes a speedometer/odometer, trip meter, hour meter and a DC outlet.
