How to Locate a Lost Nissan FOB
by Owen E. Richason IVLosing a key fob can be a frustrating experience. Nissan key fobs typically lock and unlock a car, SUV, van or truck. The fob also arms and disarms the alarm on a Nissan vehicle. A lost key fob generally costs $200 to $300 depending on the Nissan model. Rather than having your Nissan towed and the key fob replaced, attempt to locate it first.
Step 1
Retrace your steps. Go to the last place you had possession of the Nissan key fob. Begin at that location and then walk back through the locations you were thereafter. Pay attention when going from one location to another. Recall if you stopped or paused from one location to another.
Step 2
Look in places the key fob may have accidentally dropped. This includes, but is not limited to: a mailbox or post office box, coat pockets, pant pockets, shirt pockets, between and under couch cushions, on counter tops, along the walkway and driveway. If the Nissan is unlocked, look inside around the floor mats, under and between the seats, in the glove compartment, in the storage box, in the trunk, and around the immediate outside area of the vehicle.
Step 3
Ask another person to retrace your steps. Having another set of eyes can assist you greatly in recovering your Nissan key fob. Not only will another person be able to physically look for your Nissan key fob, she will have a different set of mind and be able to consider places you might have not thought to look.
